How budgets work in Liru
Budgets in Liru are live – they update automatically when products are added, clients make selections, or prices change. No manual spreadsheet work.
Budget structure
Budgets are organized:
**Per room** – each room has its own sub-budget
**Per category** – furniture, lighting, materials, labor, etc.
**Total** – aggregated across all rooms
Adding items to the budget
Products enter the budget in two ways:
1. **Chrome extension** – capture products from any website
2. **Manual entry** – add custom items with price and details
Each budget item shows:
• Product name and image
• Source URL
• Price (original currency + converted)
• Quantity
• Room assignment
• Status (pending / approved / purchased)
Multi-currency support
If you source products internationally, Liru handles currency conversion automatically. Exchange rates are updated daily. You can set a base currency for each project.
Client budget view
Clients can see a simplified budget view in their portal:
• Room totals
• Approved vs. pending items
• Total project cost
• Budget vs. allowance comparison
Tips
• Set budget allowances per room before sourcing products
• Use the "approved" status to lock in prices after client sign-off
• Review the budget summary before every client meeting
